A Crack to Clear
In the mirror, cracks were all you saw
Missing the view of shimmering light
Emotions meter had run full and raw
Broken wings were readied for flight
Breaths were shallow and hits were gasps
Lingering softly for moments past
Suddenly you seemed to hear a bell
Leaning in as if it rang in the distance
You cracked a smile, was sure a wall fell
You stood up, fighting all resistance
A knock came from the dark
A blow or two sank into your heart
And there is was, what a splendour!
You stood, beckoning the world nearer
Demanding the hurt to surrender
Making all, making my life, clearer.
